K'gari Explorer 3 Day Getaway Review
This is K'gari for people who would rather end the day at a resort than in a tent. You start with a night at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Then come two days of touring in an air-conditioned 4WD coach, with a night at K'gari Beach Resort in between. Breakfasts, lunches and ferries are included, and dinners are at your own cost.

Not everyone wants to drive on sand or sleep under canvas. For couples, families and anyone who likes a proper bed, this getaway from K'gari Explorer Tours is the most relaxed way to see the island well.
The rhythm works. You cross on a ferry time you choose and have the first afternoon at Kingfisher Bay, with its pools and the Sunset Bar. The next morning the coach collects you at the resort, so the touring starts without an early transfer. The two tour days include the Champagne Pools and Lake Wabby, which the day tours leave out.
The catches: the standard rooms at K'gari Beach Resort have fans, not air-conditioning, the coach takes up to 40 people and dinners are extra. Cancellation is free until 15 days before, then the full amount is lost. Why it earns Best Resort Getaway and a 4.6: two resorts and two guided days, with almost nothing to organise yourself.
