Who we are

Straight answers instead of a sales pitch

We are a no-nonsense travel agency. Far North Queensland is already beautiful enough. Our job is to show you the real deal, not to talk you into the most expensive boat on the water.

Most people planning a trip here run into the same wall: dozens of near-identical tour listings, glossy photos that all look the same, and no honest way to tell which one suits the way you travel. So they spend an evening comparing tabs instead of enjoying the trip they are about to take.

That is the problem we set out to fix. We have tested and reviewed more than 200 tours across Far North Queensland, from the reef and the islands to the rainforest. For each one we write down what it is genuinely good at, and say plainly who it is not for. Straightforward, honest and to the point, so you spend less time staring at a screen and more time enjoying the world around you.

The team

We are the Cairns locals

Airbnb hosts, divers, marine biologists, tour guides, fishermen and everything in between. The Tropical North is full of tours, but genuine insider knowledge has become hard to find. Our team includes people who have worked across the Cairns tourism scene for years, on the boats, in the rainforest, and in the backend systems that power the region’s travel industry.

Who you are talking to

Hi, I’m Amber

I run GuestTours from right here in Cairns, where I have lived for seven years. In that time I have got to know the local operators personally. I know which boats look after families, which crews really know the reef, and which trips are genuinely worth the money.

I started GuestTours because I kept seeing visitors spend their one big trip on the wrong tour. A day on the reef is not something you get to redo the following week, so it is worth getting right the first time.

When you book with us you get my WhatsApp number for before, during and after your trip. If the weather turns or a boat gets cancelled, you message me and I sort it out from here in Cairns.

How we work

Small agency, professional systems

We might be small, but we work like the big agencies. GuestTours runs on the same professional booking systems trusted by major travel networks worldwide, which gives our partners and our guests a reliable, secure and transparent way to manage bookings and payments.

STEP 01

We test and review the tour

We see how a trip actually runs before we recommend it. Times, inclusions, prices and age limits come straight from the operator, so what you read still holds on the day. If something is not confirmed, we say so rather than guess.

STEP 02

You pick with real information

Each tour gets an honest write-up: what it does well, who it suits, and where it falls short. Our comparison tables put them side by side, so you can see what really separates one boat from the next.

STEP 03

You book through us

One request form, one confirmation, one point of contact. Questions about pick-up, dietary needs or the weather forecast come to us. We sort it out with the operator.

Mission & vision

Bringing the local voice back into travel

We want travel in Far North Queensland to be more genuine and more meaningful. Every visitor should get real insight, not just glossy brochures and generic tour listings.

By working with hosts, guides and small businesses who know the reef, the rainforest and the islands inside out, we are building something that benefits visitors and the local community at the same time.

  • Details from the source. Times, prices and inclusions come from the operator’s own published information, never from a directory or a guess.
  • Local operators. We work with the crews who live and work here.
  • Honest about the downsides. If a tour is a long day for young kids, we say it.
  • One point of contact. From the first question to the day you step on the boat.
